WASHINGTON -- The overall U.S. trade deficit narrowed in June as exports rose faster than imports, the U.S. Commerce Department reported Wednesday.
U.S. exports rose by 9.4 percent to 158.3 billion U.S. dollars in June while imports increased by 4.7 percent to 208.9 billion dollars, the department said. Overall trade deficit declined by 7.5 percent to 50.7 billion dollars from a revised 54.8 billion dollars in May. (U.S.-Trade Deficit)

WASHINGTON -- Former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden will not travel to Milwaukee in U.S. midwestern state of Wisconsin to accept the Democratic presidential nomination at the party's national convention scheduled later this month due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic, local media reported on Wednesday.
Health officials in Wisconsin have informed the Democratic National Convention Committee that speakers for the 2020 Democratic convention should no longer travel to Milwaukee due to the coronavirus, said a CNN report. (US-Biden)

WASHINGTON -- More than 110 students have been sent home to quarantine for 14 days after six kids and a school staffer tested positive for COVID-19 in a school district in southern U.S. state Mississippi, local media reported Wednesday.
Taylor Coombs, spokesperson for the Corinth School District, told CNN that 116 students have been considered in "close contact" of a positive case and quarantined. (U.S.-Coronavirus-School)

MOSCOW -- A Russian Su-27 fighter jet was scrambled over the Black Sea on Wednesday to intercept two U.S. reconnaissance planes, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"On August 5, Russian airspace control systems detected two air targets approaching the Russian state border over the neutral waters of the Black Sea," the ministry's Zvezda broadcasting service said. (Russia-U.S.-Military)
