PHNOM PENH, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia on Thursday held a broadcast and media conference to present the 32nd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games and 12th ASEAN Para Games.
The two-day conference was attended by national and international press members, particularly those from the SEA Games-participating countries and regions.
Speaking at the event, Vath Chamroeun, secretary-general of the Cambodia SEA Games Organizing Committee (CAMSOC), said the country is ready to host the Games for the first time in 64 years.
"This is a proud moment for all Cambodian citizens, as it is only 50 days away for us to start the Games," he said.
At the conference, CAMSOC officials presented a report on the preparations for the Games, a plan for holding the torch relay in 10 ASEAN countries, and the Games broadcasting plan.
On the second day of the conference, CAMSOC is to arrange a tour for the press to the capital's Chroy Changvar Convention Center and Morodok Techo Sports Complex, where the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2023 SEA Games will be held.
Themed "Sports: Live in Peace", the 32nd SEA Games is scheduled from May 5 to 17. Cambodia will also host the 12th ASEAN Para Games from June 3 to 9.
