TAIPEI, Taiwan: Taiwan's China Airlines has placed an order for 14 Boeing 777X wide-body aircraft, consisting of 10 777-9 passenger planes and four 777-8 freighters, Boeing announced this week.
The deal includes options for the airline to purchase an additional five 777-9s and four 777-8 freighters, Boeing said.
In December, China Airlines, Taiwan's largest carrier, outlined plans to acquire 10 Boeing 777-9 aircraft, 10 Airbus A350-1000s, and four 777-8 freighters, with deliveries expected to begin in 2029. The total value of the December agreement was estimated at $11.9 billion at list prices.
